We built Rosemaund’s Shopify store as a stage for every release: first a ballot that kept access to a small-batch whisky fair, now an immersive, story-led experience for Release 03, the Director’s Cut.

Rosemaund is a small-batch whisky distillery. Demand consistently outstrips supply, so every release has to be paced, fair and worth the wait.
Release 02, the Orchard Cut, landed in February. Release 03, the Director’s Cut, arrives now, timed to the new season of Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen.

Scarcity as a feature.
Every release sells out, and demand consistently outstrips supply. The brief was to control access without frustrating the people who miss out.
Instead of fighting limited availability, the store had to make it part of the brand.
- Pace
Predictable releases
Paced, managed drops instead of a rush at launch.
- Access
Fair, transparent entry
Every customer knows how and when they can buy.
- Retention
Close between drops
People who miss out stay engaged until the next release.
From a ballot to a story.
For the first releases we built a custom Shopify store and a bespoke ballot flow on Vercel. Customers registered interest, were admitted in stages, and Locksmith restricted checkout to approved entrants, inviting the next as each window closed.
With Release 03 the ballot is gone. We rebuilt the experience to be immersive, with GSAP-driven content that tells the story of the Director’s Cut as you scroll, without giving up speed: zero layout shift and Good scores across Core Web Vitals.

New creative for a new release.
For Release 03 we created a new set of static Meta ads, built around the Director’s Cut and its tie-in with The Gentlemen, to bring new drinkers into the story ahead of launch.

Close between releases.
We connected release access to Klaviyo, sending automated updates from registration through to post-purchase follow-up.
A lifecycle framework of core flows and campaign templates covers availability, storytelling and release news, keeping customers who missed out engaged until the next drop.
