Why we rebuilt the agency model around defined engagements
Defined engagements create alignment and measurable progress. Our signature model replaces broad retainers with structured growth partnerships.

OENA® has operated as an agency since 2013.
Over that time, the ecommerce landscape has matured dramatically. Platforms have evolved. Paid media has become more automated. Customer acquisition costs have risen. Expectations have accelerated.
The traditional agency model, however, has remained largely unchanged.
Broad retainers. Open-ended scopes. Reactive workstreams. Tactical requests layered onto strategic ambition.
For years, this model was sufficient.
Today, it is not.
After more than a decade delivering growth across Shopify, paid acquisition, lifecycle, and optimisation, we’ve redesigned how we work.
We call them our Signature Engagements.
Reframing our services was not simply structural — it was a deliberate shift designed to create greater clarity and momentum for our clients.
Why the traditional model breaks
Most agency relationships fail not because of talent, but because of structure.
When scope is undefined:
- Priorities shift weekly.
- Focus fragments.
- Strategy becomes reactive.
- Performance is measured tactically.
Clients expect momentum. Agencies deliver activity.
Without clarity of objective and framework, intensity replaces design.
Growth becomes busy — not stronger.
Designing a better model
We rebuilt OENA around three defined engagements.
Each is designed around a clear commercial outcome, not a loose collection of services.
Rather than asking, “What do you need this month?” we ask:
“What structure will strengthen your model?”
Our engagements are built to:
- Align strategy and execution from day one.
- Protect focus.
- Create measurable milestones.
- Remove scope drift.
- Strengthen performance over time.
This is not about limiting flexibility.
It is about designing clarity.
Our signature engagements
From this redesign came three Signature Engagements: Framework, Flagship, and Fullsail.
Each reflects a distinct stage of growth. Each is structured around a specific commercial outcome.
- Framework: Designed for brands requiring structural clarity. It focuses on diagnosing and rebuilding the fundamentals — positioning, channel mix, lifecycle architecture, and commercial alignment. It establishes the strategic base required for sustainable growth.
- Flagship: Designed for brands ready to scale with integration. It aligns paid acquisition, lifecycle strategy, and ecommerce optimisation into a coordinated system. The focus is not increased activity, but improved efficiency — stronger conversion, higher retention, and more resilient acquisition economics.
- Fullsail: Designed for ambitious brands seeking comprehensive partnership. It integrates acquisition, creative direction, lifecycle strategy, and optimisation under one cohesive structure. It is built for brands where scale must be matched with discipline and long-term durability.
Why this matters
Defined engagements create stronger partnerships.
They:
- Clarify expectations.
- Align incentives.
- Protect quality.
- Reduce volatility.
- Encourage long-term thinking.
After more than ten years operating within traditional models, we’ve learned that structure outperforms flexibility.
Growth improves when the partnership itself is designed.
A structural evolution
OENA® is not a new agency, but this marks a more deliberate chapter in how we operate. Our Signature Engagements reflect both the maturity of the ecommerce landscape and the experience we’ve gained since 2013. Over the past decade, we’ve seen how ambiguity weakens momentum and how clarity strengthens performance.
This evolution introduces clearer structure, defined scope, and outcome-led design into every partnership. Because modern growth requires more than activity — it requires architecture built to compound over time.
